Production and context

Ritratti d'Artista is a production of the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania developed within the framework of the PNRR project IartNET (An International Platform for Artistic Practice/Research and Cultural Heritage at Italian Higher Arts Education Institutions). The project is led by the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera and involves the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania, the Luca Marenzio Conservatory of Music in Brescia, the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrara, the Teatro alla Scala - Fondazione Accademia d'Arti e Mestieri dello Spettacolo, and the University of Milan.

Synopsis

Ritratti d'Artista explores the lives and work of artists, designers, musicians and choreographers who have shaped the history of higher arts education in Italy, told through a documentary lens. Figures selected with a multidisciplinary approach, who experienced the evolution of higher arts education as students or as teachers, capturing the complexity of both art and education. With English subtitles to reach a national and international audience.
