Cinematic Futures

Bridging art, technology and interdisciplinary training

A centre of excellence for cinema and digital innovation in the heart of Southern Italy.

C-Fabit, a film production and research hub in Southern Italy

A living lab where academia and industry meet

C-Fabit is a film research and production programme led by the Academy of Fine Arts of Catania and funded by the European Union through Italy's National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR)

The project aims to transform Catania into an international hub for film and audiovisual production, creating a lasting presence for the industry in Southern Italy.

Learning extends far beyond the classroom: students and industry professionals work side by side on real productions, including TV series, feature films and documentaries. The film set becomes the primary learning environment, offering emerging talent from Southern Italy concrete opportunities for education, professional development and employment within their own region.
